Taste Test: Cream Cheese Danish

Dear Readers,

It has been a lovely cold winter here. I love winter...the snow, the cold, the wind. I can imagine spending time in a remote cabin, stoking the fire and drinking tea waiting for the blizzard to stop.

So, I did a taste test of cream cheese danish. One is from a well known family owner bakery, the other from Woodman's grocery. I was surprised with the outcome.

Left: Woodman's, Right: Bakery

Bakery

Woodman's
Happy Valentine's Day!!

The taste overall:

Woodman's: Flaky, buttery danish, fluffy and high dough with good vanilla flavor.

Bakery: Flaky, not raised danish, chewy and dense

The filling:

Woodman's: Smooth, not as dense, mix of flavors (not just cream cheese)

Bakery: Dense, cream cheese stands out as the main flavor and texture

Cost:

Woodman's: $0.69
Bakery: $1.25

Clear Winner: Woodman's

I really did think that side by side that the professional bakery would win. Not the case at all. Woodman's is a great place to purchase baked goods! Try them out!

Bon Appetit!
