Dear Readers,
When searching through the famous Nestle recipe collection cookbook, I stumbled across the most divine recipe for bars. I was hungry for the intensely sweet and smooth taste of cheesecake, so I indulged myself.
Modified from Nestle Recipe Collection
Cheesecake Bars
2 3/4 cups Carmel chips
1 cup chocolate chips
1 stick butter
3 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 1/2 cups ground almonds
3/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
16 oz cream cheese
1/3 cup flour
2 Tbls. Lemon Juice
Melt butter and Carmel chips, stir in 2 cups gram cracker crumbs
Press into 15x1x10 inch jelly roll pan
Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-14 minutes
Combine cream cheese and sugar, beat until fluffy
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
Add flour and lemon juice, mix well
Pour cream cheese mix over baked Carmel/gram cracker crust
Top with topping (see below)
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-29 minutes
Topping:
Melt chocolate chips stir in 1 cup graham cracker crumbs and all of the ground almonds
Mixture should be crumbly
Can also sprinkle with crumbled Heath bar bits!
